FACTS & FIGURES

The City of Taguig (formerly spelled as Tagig; Filipino: Lungsod ng Taguig) is the newest city in Metro Manila in the Philippines. The city used to be a thriving fishing community along the shores of Laguna de Bay but is now also an important residential and industrial suburb of Manila. The recent construction of the encompassing C-5 highway and the acquisition and development of the spacious former military camp, Fort Bonifacio, has paved the way for the cityhood of the municipality.

Taguig River, a tributary of the Pasig River cuts through the northern half of the municipality and Napindan River, also a tributary of the Pasig forms the common border of Taguig with Pasig City.

GEOGRAPHY

Taguig, a first class municipality, is situated at the northwestern shore of Laguna de Bay at the upper mouth of the legendary Pasig River, also known as the Napindan Channel, through which Laguna drains its flood waters. It occupies a total land area of 33.7 sq. kilometers.

LOCATION

Taguig City lies on the western shore of Laguna de Bay and is bordered by Muntinlupa City to the south, Paranaque City to the southwest, Pasay City to the west, Cainta and Taytay on the northwest and Makati City, Pateros, and Pasig City to the north.

LAND AREA

It has a total area of 4,538.2 hectares (45.382 sq.km.) as per approved Cadastral Survey Modam 500 D by the NCR Land Management Bureau.

ECONOMY

This city is a first class and one of the highly urbanized cities in the National Capital Region. Because of its proximity to the Ortigas Business District and Quezon City which in recent years has become the government center as location of national government agencies, Taguig City has become an alternative site for industrial and commercial establishments as well as manufacturing firms. The construction of the SM Shopping complex and the latest, Market, Market in the center of the city has also attracted other domestic suppliers to locate their offices in the city.

The Lakeshore District is envisioned to be the premier tourist and recreation destination of Metro Manila. Located only minutes away from the Bonifacio Global City and the new NAIA 3 Terminal, the 250-hectare lakeshore property will be home to a world-class recreational and residential development, which will include:

GOLF COURSE AND RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

A 36-hole all-weather golf course residential fairway lots, fully-equipped golf and sports club, natures preserve, villas, etc.

COMMERCIAL AND MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT
