A foreign investor is interested in getting a franchise for 10 to 20 branches of Robinsons Land Corporation’s budget hotel chain gohotels.ph.In an interview RLC president Frederick Go said the investor really likes the gohotels.ph business model and brand and is thus very keen to open several franchise units in the Philippines. He said this is the first time the investor will be putting up a business in the local hotel industry, as it is optimistic about gohotels.ph’s prospects considering that local travelers comprise the bulk of tourists in the country. Go said the branches the new investor wants to put up will form part of the at least 30 company-owned and franchised gohotels.ph branches RLC wants to put up within the country in five years.Gohotels.ph is now expanding and will be opening sites in Palawan, Tacloban, Dumaguete, Bacolod and Cebu following the success of its pilot branch in Mandaluyong.
In a statement, gohotels.ph’s general manager Elizabeth D. Gregorio has also announced that they have started accepting franchisees to speed up its growth.
