News: FVR to launch International School of Sustainable Tourism - 19 Mar 2011
The International School of Sustainable Tourism (ISST) will be formally launched on March 23 from 11 a.m. at its main campus at the ISST/Subac Building, Dewey Avenue at Subic Freeport Zone.Former President Fidel V. Ramos will deliver the keynote address. Tourism Secretary Alberto Lim will be the guest speaker. Opening remarks will be delivered by Armand Arreza, administrator of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and Gregory Duffel, managing director of Travox, and Dr. David Cartes of the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Florida State University. Welcome remarks will be made by ISS president, Dr. Mina T. Gabor. 

The ISST is a private non-stock and non-profit corporation. It is the first institution of its kind that in the ASEAN region provides both short-term courses (seven days to three months) and facilities that inspire and encourage quality of tourism human resources, environmental and cultural conservation, marketing and product development strategies on sustainable tourism.

Members of the board are President Ramos, the United Nations World Tourism Organization, Department of Tourism, Pacific Asia Travel Association, Florida State University, Travox Managing Director Gregory Duffel, HM Design President Hitesh Mehta, Automobile Association of the Philippines, Pacific Paint (Boysen), and Philips Electronics and Lighting, Inc.Source: Manila Bulletin Online, Main Business Section, March 19, 2011
