News: Greenfield Development benefits from boom in business process outsourcing - 28 Oct 2007
The local business process outsourcing and call center industry continues to boom as more and more global companies continue to set-up operations in the Philippines.

Rising, too as a prime location for call center operations is Edsa Central Greenfield District.
Owned and managed by Greenfield Development Corporation, this sprawling complex now counts several big named call center companies as its tenants.

Just recently, leading call center company Teleperformance began the construction of its new home in Edsa Central, Greenfield District. The 15,000-square meter, twostorey building is now nearing completion to house the operations of Teleperfomance.

"The move to this new base at Edsa Central was in line with the increase in the number of clients, as well as their requirements," shared Nick dela Paz, Teleperformance’s Finance and Administrative Manager. "While we have offices in the Ortigas area, we need to service a bigger demand for seats – and when we saw the big space here at Edsa Central, we knew we found our new home."

The second floor alone, which has 1,500 seats, is entirely devoted to one account. One thousand more seats in the ground floor are for various clients, which are mostly telecommunication companies and financial institutions.
The move to this larger base space not only allowed Teleperformance to amply provide for the needs of its clients, but also give its employees a comfortable work environment. "Accessibility is really a major consideration in choosing where to set up operations, and Edsa Central was very accessible to all kinds of transportation," said Dela Paz. The complex has terminals for MRT, buses, jeepneys, FX, taxis and even tricycles, providing transportation to different parts of the metropolis. There are also plenty of parking areas nearby.

"Also, the big space allowed us to put in various amenities for the comfort and convenience of our employees," related Dela Paz. Knowing that their employees need to have an outlet for relaxation given the stressful nature of their work, our Edsa Central office features an arcade with Timezone games, billiards and videoke, and a gym. The canteen offers good food at reasonable prices, "though our employees can also have their pick at the several food establishments in the area," shared dela Paz.

Because most employees are on night shift, there are also separate spacious sleeping quarters for male and female employees where they can catch a few winks before heading home. And the management, working with Greenfield Development Corporation and the local police, holds regular monthly meetings to discuss various security concerns and measures given the increased number of pedestrian traffic in the area.

"Being located here at Edsa Central has been very beneficial to Teleperformance," said dela Paz. "It certainly helped lessen our attrition rate, since the employees are happy with the accessibility of the office as well as the improvements and the facilities we have on site."

Dela Paz also credits the support of Greenfield Development Corporation. "We have a good relationship with Greenfield Development Corporation; they’ve been very helpful when it comes to providing our requirements," related dela Paz. "They’re very fast and accommodating, especially when we need help for some structural needs like plans and systems, or applying for permits."
