Mandarin Oriental, Manila is talking to several property developers for possible management of hotels in Cebu, Fort Bonifacio Global City and other parts of Metro Manila.
In an interview, Mandarin Oriental, Manila general manager Helmut Gaisberger said these are just in the exploratory stages and nothing has been firmed up yet.
Meanwhile, Mandarin Oriental has teamed up with the Araneta Group to open Mandarin Oriental Suites in Gateway Mall, Cubao, Quezon City—the first mall-based events venue with the luxury standards of a deluxe hotel.
Mandarin Oriental Suites has two halls which can cater to as many as 300 dinner guests and up to 450 for cocktails. It also has a pre-function reception area, a bar, a prevent organizer’s venue and a complete business center. Gaisberger said the 2,034-square meter facility is owned by Araneta Center and managed by Mandarin Oriental which also staffs the full-service kitchen manned by some of the hotel’s best master chefs.
"We are delighted to be bringing Mandarin Oriental’s renowned catering service and hospitality closer to those who live and work in this part of the city, and be part of the vibrant development in the Araneta Center," Gaisberger said. This is the second collaboration of Araneta Center and Mandarin Oriental, Manila following the opening of the highly successful Mandarin Oriental Café and Deli at the upper ground level of Gateway mall in 2005.
"We are proud to have yet another facility that is operated by Mandarin Oriental, as it mirrors our desire to achieve a high level of sophistication and fivestar service in Gateway," said Araneta Group senior vice president for marketing Grace Magno.
