23 Jan 2008
The Bureau of Export Trade Promotion (BETP) of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) now accepts payments for its various services through Globe Telecoms’ GCash facility.
BETP clients can now use GCash to pay for the Export Development Act (EDA) accreditation application fee and Garments and Textile Import Services (GTIS) items such as Bonded Manufacture Warehouse Renewal Fee, Forbearance Fee, Common Bonded Manufacture Warehouse License Fee, Common Bonded Manufacture Warehouse Annual Fee, and Common Bonded Manufacture Warehouse Accreditation Fee as an alternative to cash and check payments.
The introduction of the GCash payment facility is part of DTI’s ongoing anti-red tape and e-commerce promotion efforts.
On 19 December 2007, BETP, the Bureaus of Import Services (BIS) and Product Standards (BPS), Board of Investments (BOI), and the Philippine Shippers’ Bureau (PSB) followed DTI’s Business Name Registration (BNR) in accepting GCash payments, which began in June 2007.
Globe and Touch Mobile subscribers may avail themselves of this facility. They need to register by typing in REG <4-digit M-PIN>/<Mother’s Maiden Name>/<First Name>/<Last Name>/<Address>/<Telephone No. with Area Code> and sending it to 2882.
For more information, call the DTI Direct at 751.3330, GCash Hotline 739.2882, or GCash Mobile Hotline 2882 (free call).
