Fruit and vegetable enthusiasts are invited to the open house at the Secret Garden of Doris (SGD) along Sumulong Highway in Antipolo City (near Bankers Village) on Saturday and Sunday, April 12 and 13.
The place is showcasing how high-value vegetables and exotic fruits are integrated to maximize the productivity of the place.
Exotic fruit trees such as high-quality pummelo, Abiu, longkong lanzones, variegated chico, Sweet Elena carabo mango and many other varieties of mangoes, Perante orange, mangosteen, variegated chico, various imported makopa, rambutan and many others are being multiplied for commercial growers as well as for hobbyists. Many of the fruiting trees are in rubberized containers.
High-value crops such as vegetables from East-West Seed Co., including tomato, pepper, Sinta papaya, ampalaya, okra, cucumber and others have been planted on terraced beds. Doris Irog, experts from East-West Seed and others have been invited to provide free consultation to visitors.
Large as well as standard size planting materials of fruit trees will be available at a discount. SGD is a satellite propagating and growing area of Teresa Orchard & Nursery.
